The film, officially unveiled in February 2022 with the provisional title Thalaivar 169, marked Rajinikanth’s 169th cinematic endeavor. The official title was disclosed later that June. Principal photography began in August 2022 in Chennai, followed by shoots in Cuddalore, Jaisalmer, Mangalore, and Kerala, concluding by early June 2023. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, with Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal overseeing cinematography and editing, respectively.
