About Jesus

Jesus (c. 6 to 4 BC – AD 30 or 33), known also as Jesus Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, and by numerous other appellations, emerged as a prominent first-century Jewish preacher and spiritual figure. He stands as the focal point of Christianity, the world’s largest faith. The majority of Christians perceive Jesus as the embodiment of God the Son and the long-awaited messiah, foretold in the Old Testament.

Academic scrutiny has produced diverse perspectives on the historical accuracy of the Gospels and their proximity to the actual life of Jesus. Jesus, initiated into Judaism through circumcision at eight days old, underwent baptism by John the Baptist in his youth. Following a period of 40 days and nights of fasting in the wilderness, he commenced his ministry. Renowned as an itinerant teacher, he often assumed the title of “rabbi.” Engaging in debates with fellow Jews regarding the path to divine adherence, he performed healings, imparted teachings through parables, and gathered disciples, among whom twelve held prominent positions. Contrary to Christian belief, most Muslims assert that Jesus was neither killed nor crucified, but ascended into Heaven while still alive.
